What We Teach
We teach Classical and/or Contemporary styles in Piano and Voice.
AMEB Syllabuses: Piano, Piano for Leisure, Singing, Singing for Leisure, Musical Theatre, Theory, Musicianship, and Music Craft.
All students will focus on Sight Reading, Aural Skills, Musicianship, Musicality, Technique, and Performance.
Older students may also learn Composition and Improvisation (usually adults).
We can teach using the Kodály Method which is focused on well-rounded, full musical literacy.
How We Teach
Regular face-to-face lessons on a quality piano with one of our teachers (usually weekly).
Learning an instrument takes commitment and practice, so each student has a set amount of expected hours of practice each week (usually a minimum of 30 mins a day or 3 hours/week).
Each student must have access to a suitable quality piano or keyboard for practice time.
At least once a year, students will perform to an audience of other students, family and friends, and other performance opportunities are available and encouraged.
Students will have the opportunity to do AMEB exams if desired.
We adapt our lessons to suit the learning style, age and capacity of each student as an individual.
We are passionate about music and teaching and aim to make our lessons as enjoyable as possible while expecting appropriate levels of commitment and practice from the student.
Our teachers regularly receive industry standard professional development through AMEB.
Why We Teach
We believe everyone deserves to be able to learn a musical instrument (including voice) regardless of socio-economic background, age or capacity.
Our pricing is competitive (just $60/hour) to make learning music as affordable as possible.
We believe lessons should be fun and engaging for all students in a positive and encouraging environment.
We focus on enabling students to learn and fulfil their musical potential independently.
